The phone conversation between Putin and US President Donald Trump lasted for 2 hours.
Following recent talks, Russian President Vladimir Putin described his phone conversation with US President Donald Trump as meaningful, frank, and very useful.
"I would like to note that it [the conversation] was very informative and very frank. And on the whole, in my opinion, it was very useful in this regard," Putin told reporters after his conversation with Trump, adding that the phone call lasted more than two hours.
Putin revealed that during the conversation, Trump expressed his position on the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine. The Russian president reaffirmed Russia’s readiness to work on a memorandum with Ukraine that would include a ceasefire agreement.
Vladimir Putin emphasized that Russia’s position on the situation in Ukraine is clear: the main priority is to eliminate the root causes of the crisis.
Speaking on the resumption of negotiations, Putin expressed optimism, saying, "We are on the right track."

Earlier on Monday, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said that Trump or the White House will make a statement after the conversation.
